Charles began his career as an oil and gas attorney after working through high school and college summers as a floor hand on drilling rigs and a form carpenter on pipeline and petrochemical plant construction projects. He has transactional and litigation experience in all aspects of the energy business, from title examination through leasing, production, gathering and processing, transportation (including eminent domain), and marketing.
Charles also worked in investment banking and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He has represented or served as an expert witness for clients in Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitrations and securities-related litigation in state and federal courts.
Charles serves as outside general counsel for a fire protection company, independent oil and gas companies, real estate developers, health care providers, and import/export companies, representing clients in litigation and general transactional matters. Charles has also defended professional liability claims against attorneys, real estate agents and brokers, accountants, architects, and other professionals.
